What is our Medical Weight Management Program?

We promote a healthy lifestyle by first reviewing exercise regimes, eating habits, etc. which are fundamental to long term weight management and then for the patients that continue to struggle with excessive weight we offer compassionate care and evidence based weight loss Injections & medications to help our patients achieve the results they are looking for. The medications we utilize are Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, with the option of adding a B-Complex Vitamin Infusion & MIC (Methionine/Inositol/Choline) which are amino acids that when injected into the body help stimulate the liver into functioning optimally.

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide, originally used for diabetes, is sold under the brand names Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus. It is a modified molecule that our bodies make called a Glucagon-Like Peptide (GLP-1). This peptide is produced in the intestine and reduces the absorption of sugar at the gut level, leading to a decrease in overall blood sugar levels. Additionally, it acts as a potent appetite suppressant and stimulates the satiety section of the brain, resulting in feelings of satisfaction and fullness, thereby enabling smaller portion sizes. The molecule has been modified for injection, allowing it to remain active in our bodies for weeks, as opposed to the naturally occurring version which lasts only minutes.

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide, also known as Mounjaro, is similar to Semaglutide and is a dual-acting medication that activates glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptors in the body. Originally used for diabetes, it is also used off-label for weight loss. Tirzepatide reduces sugar absorption at the gut level, slows gastric emptying, and curbs cravings, resulting in increased feelings of fullness. It acts on appetite centers in the brain to decrease appetite, leading to reduced daily caloric intake and weight loss.
